Abia Govt Bans Use Of ABSG Vehicle Number Plate

The government of Abia state has banned the indiscriminate and unauthorized use of official Abia State Government vehicle number plate by former public servants and former appointees of the Governor without valid authorization.

A press release endorsed by the State Governor's Chief Security Officer, Mr. Emeka Ubani strongly advised that all former public office holders who were issued such number plates during the period of their service to the state should return such to the Transport Officer in Government house Umuahia immediately after their tenure expires.

The release also stated that the covering of number plates by unauthorized individuals and former office holders is illegal and warned that offenders will be prosecuted by law enforcement agents on apprehension.

"Proper authorization should be obtained from the office of the Chief Security Officer to the Governor, the State’s Head of Service or the NIGERIA Police Force before any individual can cover official plate numbers"

"Affected individuals are advised to do the needful immediately or face the consequences of the law", he said.
