Aba Sports Club 1926; A Key Player And Valued Partner Of The Abia Govt, Says @GovernorIkpeazu

Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has described the Aba Sports Club 1926 as a valued partner of his administration in the development and repositioning of the Aba economy, and by extension, the Abia economy.

Ikpeazu made this known yesterday at the Club premises in Aba during the commissioning of the Ultra Modern Squash Courts built and donated to the Club by some good spirited individuals.
Commissioning the new Courts, Governor Ikpeazu expressed delight that with the new facilities, Aba now has the most modern Squash Court in the country and can now host Squash Competitions of any standard. He thanked the donors for their benevolence and contribution to the development of sports in the Club and in the state.

The Governor also commended the Club for the launch of their Club Magazine describing it as a key addition to the growing literature on Aba and Abia State.

Represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Barrister Onyebuchi Ememanka, Governor Ikpeazu further stated that the Aba Sports Club 1926 is a collection of men and women, captains of industry and employers of labor whose contributions and investments have been very fundamental in the economy of Abia State.

Earlier, the President of the Aba Sports Club 1926, Mazi Jude Nnamdi Nwosu (UGWUARO) told the Governor that the three ultra modern Squash Courts with glass backs are the most modern in Nigeria as at today and expressed his gratitude and that of the entire club to the donors, Engr. Nwafor Enyinnaya and Chief Ncheta Okoro Omerekpe for their kindness and support to the club.
He also said that the Club will host a National Squash Competition in October this year and that will further take Aba to the zenith of Sports development in Nigeria.
An exhibition match was later played at the Court.

The donors were later inducted into the PLATINUM HALL OF FAME of the Club at an impressive event presided over by the President and Club Secretary, Sir Kelechi Ukaumunna.
