War Against Street Trading, Ilegal Parking And Dumping Of Refuse To Commence Next Week - Abia LG Boss.





The Isiala Ngwa South LGA has said it's setting up a task force team to stop indiscriminate parking, roadside trading along Umuika and its environs, from next week.

Speaking to journalists in his office on Tuesdays, the transition committee chairman, Chief Ike Anyatonwu frowned at the rate to which motorists, street traders are blocking the major roads in the local government.


Chief Anyatonwu said, " I am totally sad at the rate traders, motorist are blocking and dumping refuse along the major roads in Isiala Ngwa South"

"Nkwo Okpu market is not a government market hence does not generate revenue to either state or Isjala Ngwa South local government, and I will not tolerate any activities that will cost the government the already scarce resources.

" The local government authority has made plans to checkmate and ensure that offenders are brought to book".

Chief Anyatonwu while making the plans of his administration known said there will be a massive road grading in all the communities in the LGA as soon as the dry season sets foot.

He also called on the youths of the LGA to embrace agriculture as one of their means of survival and assured them of proper funding to commence their business after acquiring the skills of their choices.

The LG boss vowed that his administration will carry the youths of the LGA along in the areas of political, civil service appointments and contracts. Chief Anyatonwu who frowned at the level of insecurity in the local government and called on the youths to desist from crime and embrace skills that will be of great benefit to them and the state. And vowed to work with the governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the security agencies to fight crime in the LGA.

Chief Anyatonwu is not leaving the elderly and senior citizens of the LGA behind as his administration is set to commence free medical services of which sons and daughters of the local government who are medical professionals will conduct.

He also vowed to block revenue leakages and ensure that the Local government internally generated revenue will be used to work for the people of Isiala Ngwa South.

He thanked the governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu for appointment sons and daughters of Isiala Ngwa South into various political positions in his previous administration. He also thanked him and his government for hearing the cries of the people of the Isiala Ngwa South by awarding and commencing the total reconstruction of Umuikaa - Omoba road and assured him that the good people of Isiala Ngwa South will always support his administration for the next four years.
